Main Responsibilities

Markets

Has an awareness of the range of services offered by Grant Thornton ORBIT Solutions.

Find new business opportunities with new and existing clients.

Develop, keep, and grows network of contacts outside the firm (University alumni, professional associations etc.).

Clients

Ensure prompt communication with clients on any unresolved issues on a prompt basis.

Follow legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation by enforcing adherence to requirements and advising clients on needed actions.

Maintains client’s confidentiality.

People

Act as a team player to ensure high quality client service.

Interview and recruit the right staff as and when needed.

Train and develop staff to execute assignments with increasing levels of difficulty and responsibility.

Find and conduct in house training for assurance staff.

Ensure team building and effective communication.

Supervise staff to decide that work is being executed by plans or approve changes to plan.

Complete performance appraisals with staff

Approve staff time sheets and check attendance.

Operations

Responsible for the day-to-day direction, supervision and performance of the audit in compliance with the professional standards and applicable legal and regulatory.

Supervises the work of other members of the audit team.

Performs on the job training.

Reviews the documentation of work performed.

Coordinates the planning, execution, and completion of the audit with the lead partner.

The Senior Manager documents the fulfilment of this role by completing Voyager's Senior Manager Review program, signing-off work papers reviewed, and keeping time records.

Actively takes part in all phases of the audit.

Remains alert to possible violations of policies, performing observations, making inquiries, participating in meetings, and assessing information provided by the firm's quality control and management information systems.

Education/qualifications

Secondary school education including the attainment of at least five (5) ‘O’ including English Language and Mathematics and/or two (2) ‘A’ levels              •    

ACCA qualified

Demonstrate a working knowledge of updated IFRS, IFRS for SMEs, ISAs and set up internal standards and procedures.

Experience        

5-6 years’ experience in an accounting/ audit environment or equivalent

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
