The Tax Senior is responsible for ensuring that assignments are completed accurately in accordance with legislative framework, internal standards and engagement scope, to facilitate presentation on a timely basis.

PURPOSE OF JOB

The Tax Senior is responsible for ensuring that assignments are completed accurately in accordance with legislative framework, internal standards and engagement scope, to facilitate presentation on a timely basis.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Exercises professional scepticism.
Exercises alertness and diligence in executing assigned tasks
Leads the risk assessment and planning meetings and record notes to produce minutes.
Prepares appropriate documentation to support work done.
Prepares draft of budget.
Delegates work to members of the tax team.
Responsible for the quality of the taxation documentation including the work prepared by other Tax Associates and Assistants.
Amends the respective legislations when assented.
Modifies tax procedures to reflect the entity's situation in consultation with the Tax Manager and Managing Partner.
Responsible for the day-to-day operations of tax compliance tasks to ensure completion within budget and agreed timetable.
Completes the planned tax compliance work to satisfy professional standards.
Reviews working papers and financial statements.
Reviews quarterly Tax computation, cross-boarders transactions and bi-monthly VAT computation.
Reviews Corporation Tax, Income Tax and VAT Returns prepared by Tax Associate and Tax Assistant.
Promptly notifies the Senior Manager or Managing Partner of any problems of a technical, administrative, or personnel nature that need action and suggest solutions.
Provides appropriate on-the-job-training so that less experienced staff understand their responsibilities.
Become an expert in all relevant GT methodologies, tools and domestic legislations and tax treaty tax.
Any other work assigned by the Senior Manager and Managing Partner.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

ACCA Qualified.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of the various legislative framework and established internal standards and procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Secondary school education including the attainment of at least five (5) ‘O’ including English Language and Mathematics and/or two (2) ‘A’ levels.
3-4 Years’ experience in a professional tax/accounting environment.
